Background: Thymus transplantation is undertaken for conditions associated with severe immunodeficiency. These comprise various genetic and syndromic associations including 22q deletion syndrome, CHARGE association, diabetic embryopathy, and other rarer conditions. Some of these conditions are associated with hypoparathyroidism and therefore hypocalcaemia.
